Marimba is a tool and a methodology for unlocking library data out of library catalogues.

Marimba relies on the technologies and principles of linked data: it generates reusable, graph based RDF data that conform with standard vocabularies and can be exchanged and interlinked with others. It is not however based on a generic process: at the core of Marimba are a set of customisable mappings between MARC fields and the chosen RDF vocabulary.

Marimba offers a completely automated process based on these mappings that supports the extraction of library catalogue data, as well as an iterative transformation/exploration/validation process improving both the accessibility and the quality of the data.
